Teaching Assistant

The Priory Catholic Voluntary Academy

  Grade/SCP: Grade 2 SCP 11- 15 

Salary: £17,007—£17,972

Actual Salary: £7,769.83—£8,210.70

Hours: 20 hours per week (Monday—Thursday), term time only (39 weeks per year) 

Contract: Fixed Term until 19th July 2019

Location: The Priory Catholic Voluntary Academy, Raglan Street, Hill Top, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire NG15 6GN 


Start Date: Monday 11th March 2019


With the expansion into The Saint Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust, Governors of The Priory Catholic Academy have been supported to appoint a Temporary Grade 2 Teaching Assistant for 20 hours per week to join our friendly, talented and enthusiastic team of staff until 19th July 2019.


The ideal candidate for this post will have experience of working in the classroom with SEND pupils and have a good understanding of the complex needs of some pupils within a KS1 setting. Duties will include supporting pupils’ learning activities, working mostly with individuals and small groups. In addition, you will be expected to contribute to the achievement of pupils by encouraging learning and positive behavior in the classroom and across the school. The successful candidate will assist the Class teacher to plan, differentiate and prepare intervention strategies in line with individual education plans to improve learning for specific pupils and to monitor progress against their targets. They will then plan and implement further strategies as required. 


Successful candidates will be enthusiastic, committed to making a difference with experience of working with primary age children and have a very good understanding of English and Maths (GCSE Grade C or above is desirable).
